The life of the church doesn’t always happen inside a building on Sunday. Get signed up with Realm, the online communications and record keeping platform, to connect to St. Francis In-The-Fields easily and safely, on any day, at any time. Get church news, ministry updates, service opportunities, reports and financial tracking all on your favorite device or computer.
Realm has been rolled out to a few pilot groups first so that we could learn a bit more and work on troubleshooting. There are still hiccups, but all St. Francis parishioners will be invited to Realm on Sunday, July 29th.
Get ready for your invitation by email! Watch this short video to help you with signing up or download our Sign Up Guide.
There will be newsletter articles and announcements about how to use Realm every Sunday in August. Following the Holy Eucharists on Sunday there will be someone in the Narthex and in the Parlor ready to help you sign up. We will address frequently asked questions and have teams of people available to get everyone connected.
If you have any questions or want to adopt the system early, please contact Anne Foster or the Church Office at 317-873-4377 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Frequently Asked Questions we've received so far:
1. How does this system protect my privacy?
Realm is only made up of the people in your church, it’s not like a social network that’s open to everyone. Realm keeps your data safe and gives you control over what you share and who can see it.
Your information is your information! You have complete control over who can see your contact and personal information. Your information is never public or searchable on the Internet. Any information you elect to make visible to your church family is always protected behind a password required login.
You and certain authorized staff may update your profile information. In some cases, your group leader may update your contact information if you have made it visible to group leaders.
For safety reasons, sharing contact and personal information is limited. Parents determine whether or not to display their child’s name in the church directory. Children under 13 may not participate and will not be able to sign in.
You decide the level of privacy you would like to have available on your profile page.
By default, the viewing of your contact and personal information is limited to members of groups you are in, group leaders, and staff members. If you choose to, however, you can make your information visible to the entire church. But if you prefer to be more private, you can customize how people see specific information.
2. Is our paper church directory going away?
We do not anticipate our church directory going away, but it will not be published more than once every two to three years. Realm offers parishioners to update their information and allow others to access this information with a quick click. This will mean that the Realm online directory will stay up to date beyond the printed directory.
3. What if I don’t have a pc or smart phone? Will I be out of the communication loop on everything at church?
St. Francis In-The-Fields will continue to print the announcements in the bulletin, to ask people to make announcements during the Holy Eucharist worship services on Sundays, and have resources available on the Narthex table. We will also continue to have our weekly newsletter, both by e-mail and in print available to anyone who wishes to receive it.
We will also have a computer readily available on Sundays and during office hours, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm, in the Parlor. Anyone without computer access is welcome to use the desktop computer at their convenience.
4. What are the password requirements for Realm?
Your Realm password must:
- Be 8 or more characters long and meet 3 of the following additional requirements:
- Contain at least 1 uppercase character.
- Contain at least 1 lowercase character.
- Contain at least 1 symbol (!,@,#,$,%,^, etc.).
- Contain at least 1 number.
- Contain 15 or more characters.
5. Can I sync the events calendars with my personal calendar?
We are working on that! It is possible to sync events from our website calendar, so at the very least we will be linking those events together so you can more easily add St. Francis events to your personal calendars.
