After Jesus was crucified and resurrected, he ascended into heaven in the form of divine nature to be with God. Just before the moment of this transition, Jesus tells the disciples that the Holy Spirit will come to them and that they will be the witnesses to the ends of the earth. The Holy Spirit remains our Advocate and guide in this life, linking us to God and Jesus through the Holy Trinity. We can look for the Spirit’s guidance and support as we go through our life journey here on earth.
Acts 1:7-9 - He (Jesus) replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
Almighty God, whose blessed Son our Savior Jesus Christ ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things: Mercifully give us faith to perceive that, according to his promise, he abides with his Church on earth, even to the end of the ages: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

How do you look and/or listen for the Holy Spirit in your life? In what ways can you be more intentional about providing time in prayer or meditation to receive guidance from the Spirit? How might you encourage those you love to do the same?
