Vestry

The vestry is a council of church members who make up the legal representative of the parish. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church's mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

At St. Francis In-The-Fields we usually elect three vestry members at the Annual Meeting in February of every month. The vestry members serve for three years, beginning in July. Each member also participates in committees to assist with the administration and ministry of the church.
