You are invited to a holy and lifegiving Lenten Season at St. Francis In-The-Fields. As God bids all faithful people to cleanse their hearts, and prepare with joy for the Paschal feast, we will gather this spring to repent and give thanks, pray, study, fast, care generously and celebrate God’s enduring mercies. Join us as we are renewed by God’s Word and Sacraments to walk in love in this holy season of Lent.

Let us gather as followers of the Risen Christ, and strive to be instruments of God's peace in the season of Lent.

Stations of the Cross, Good Friday, March 29th at 12:00 pm

Walk the stations of the Cross with Fr. Davies and Fr. Joél. The Stations of the Cross (also called the Way of the Cross) is a traditional devotion commemorating the last day of Jesus’ life. The devotion is an adaptation to local usage of a custom widely observed by pilgrims to Jerusalem: the offering of prayer at a series of places in that city traditionally associated with our Lord’s passion and death.

Good Friday, March 29th at 6:00 pm

The liturgy of the day includes John's account of the Passion gospel, a solemn form of intercession known as the solemn collects (dating from ancient Rome), and optional devotions before the cross (commonly known as the veneration of the cross). The eucharist is not celebrated in the Episcopal Church on Good Friday.

Holy Saturday, March 30th at 10:00 am

Join us for the liturgy of the day on this time of holy silence and waiting. This sacred service recalls the day when the crucified Christ visited among the dead while his body lay in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.

Let us proclaim the risen Christ in a joyful Easter season!
