2023 St. Francis Parish Retreat | September 15-17
Be a part of one of our most cherished parish traditions: a weekend at the peaceful and restorative Waycross Camp and Conference Center in beautiful Brown County.
Join us for our parish retreat as we broaden and explore our faith, hike, read or meditate in the afternoon, spend time with family and community, and enjoy activities for kids of all ages available throughout the weekend.
Registration is first come, first serve.
Registration Begins on Monday, May 1, 2023 and ends on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Please note those with mobility issues will be given preference for first floor rooms in their chosen locations.
Schedule: The weekend combines structured and unstructured activities and allows plenty of time for you to join in group fellowship, but also to enjoy free time on your own or with family and friends. In addition to meals together, some of our planned activities include:
Friday evening: Candlelight Compline Service
Saturday: An adult program led by John Goll, trained Naturalist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, will focus on a journey into the “great book” of God’s Creation. Kids’ Activities organized by Waycross Camp counselors, including fun games, pool time, hiking, an intergenerational kickball game, adult social hour, campfire and s’mores.
Sunday morning: Worship at Waycross Chapel, Brunch
We will have a golf cart for anyone with mobility needs to get around the Waycross campus easily.
Cost:
The total average cost of the retreat is normally $320 for an adult couple staying in the Conference Center, or $400 for a family of four staying in the Main House or Sleeping Wing.
Financial assistance is available to anyone. We want everyone to be able to attend regardless of ability to pay.
Lodging Options:
The Conference Center offers comfortable, double-occupancy rooms that sleep 2-4 with private bathrooms. Each wing enjoys hospitality rooms that include scenic views and ample seating.
This is where our program and the Dining Hall are located. Let us know if you have mobility needs or need one of the ADA rooms.
The Conference Center rooms are regularly $110 per room for the weekend.
The Main House Lodge and adjacent Sleeping Wing offer rooms that sleep between 2 and 7 with shared hall bathrooms and private bathrooms in Sleeping Wing. The Main House Lodge offers a spacious comfortable living room with cozy couches and lovely pond views leading onto porches. Bed linens are provided; bring towels.
Main House and Sleeping Wing are normally $85 per room for the weekend.
Full Weekend: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch
Ages
0-3 = Free
3-7 = $40 per person
8 – 12 = $60 per person
13 – 17 = $90 per person
Adults 18+ = $100 per person
Please note that we want you to be able to attend regardless of ability to pay. If you need any assistance please let us know and we will provide scholarships for meals.
St. Francis regularly subsidizes the cost of this retreat to cover expenses including all children’s meals, golf cart rental, camp counselors and kids’ activities, our service project, and other programming. When you register, please consider making a donation to ensure the future of our retreat fund.
